Ear piercing with epilepsy ?

User Profile
I am epileptic and have been for 8 years now but have been doing so well that my doctor decreased my dosage from Lamotrigine 150mg x2 per day to 125mg x2 per day. So I was just wondering if it would be safe to get an ear piercing (daith specifically) or could I have a seizure during the procedure?

Kind regards

Welcome to e health forum.

Yes, since the procedure would be done under local anesthesia, you should have nothing to worry.

There is no risk of any seizure being precipitated just by undergoing such procedures.
