First Trimester of Pregnancy Answer A38036
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. Normally, we avoid using any antibiotics, rather any drugs, during the first trimester (first 12 weeks) of pregnancy. However, some drugs like penicillin group of antibiotics can be safely used without any adverse effects on the growing fetus. I am not sure which antibiotics you took. Overall, the harm to the growing fetus doesn’t occur that easily inspite of using the antibiotics. However, I’ll suggest seeking the opinion of another obstetrician. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
