Doesn't eat and doesn't like food

I need help. My son's 22 and barely eats - maybe some chicken and fries a day. He's always hungry, just can't make himself eat. It's gotten much worse in the past months. For years he's eaten pretty much fries, chicken nuggets and pizza. We've talked to drs repeatedly but don't get help. Any ideas how to help him and where to go for help? It's pretty bad.

Have you taken your child to a counselor, or a psychologist? Because if he is suffering from anorexia nervosa, he would need help from a professional who specializes in eating disorders. They will help him figure out why he does not like to eat, as well as refer him to a nutritionist who can help him maintain his health despite his lack of desire for food.

With his being 22 years old there is not too much you can do as far as forcing him to a doctor...His problem being that he has programmed his brain to only eat certain foods...He feels the pains of hunger, yet the other side of him says you don't need it...If he is losing weight and you feel that he needs medical help then get ahold of a specialist and see what your options are...This is and can be a very difficult problem...He must be made to believe that what he is doing is not healthy and to learn to enjoy healthy foods...Take care...
