does the lining form anymore when the eggs are old

User Profile
I am a 51 year old woman with a regular period. In place of this last period was a miniscule reddish brown discharge that looked like a piece of toilet tissue. I did not cramp or feel pain. Can this be that my eggs are so old the lining does not even form anymore and only the egg is released during my period.
