Pregnancy Q and A Answer A43595
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
The test results as mentioned by you seem to be within normal limits (the values of the hormonal tests done will vary depending on when during the menstrual cycle the blood sample was withdrawn). If you have been trying for pregnancy, consider monitoring cervical mucus changes, cervix position, and the BBT (basal body temperature) charting to predict your ovulation (along with the follicular study if required) and time your intercourse for having fruitful results. Have intercourse in positions that allow for deeper penetration for high deposit of semen. Do not change positions immediately after ejaculation, put pillows under buttocks to minimize semen spill, and avoid getting up within 30 minutes of ejaculation. Have diet with foods rich in zinc content to ensure better maturation of egg and sperms. If you have not been successful in your pregnancy plans within 6 months to 1 year’s time of trying, you should consider getting a complete infertility work-up done for you and your partner to see if there are any underlying causes for the infertility/inability to conceive. Hormonal derangements, problems involving ovaries and ovulation, uterine problems, tubal blocks, cervical or vaginal infections, post-contraceptive ovarian failure/suppression, LPD, etc., should be ruled out for you. For your partner, semen analysis should be done to rule out infections and to confirm the quality and quantity of sperms produced, as well as rule out other factors that can affect sperm morphology and motility (especially rule out acrosomal protein defect if all other parameters are normal). Treatment as indicated (based on examination and investigations results) would be started to help you get pregnant. If required, or if 3-5 cycles of conservative treatment fails, option of IVF or ICSI should be considered to help you get pregnant. Consider visiting your gynecologist/obstetrician for further evaluation and assistance and be in regular follow-up and monitoring as instructed and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately.
Take care.
