Do Mediterranean Diet Programs Work?

Hey everyone,
I recently joined a mediterranean diet program, they promised good results and so I purchased their program. On further research, I found there are tons of these sorts of programs, my question is; does any really work?

Yes, the Mediterranean diet really works! It is one of the most well researched diets on the planet. It is made up of predominately
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Whole grains, seeds and nuts
Fish
Olive oil and other healthy fats
Small amounts of lean meat and chicken

Notice that there are no processed foods! Just whole foods.

Yes, it does work. Although, I've seen some reviews in which people were disappointed with the result of this diet. I think it all depends on the power of will. I can't understand how balanced diet (fish, seafood, nuts, whole grains etc.) can not result in a weight loss..
