Hi,
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. Your concern is regarding the white blister which was painful.

From your symptoms and history, it is important to rule out herpes because you got this blister after sex. Herpes lesions present as red itchy blisters which scab over. It is easily transmitted by direct contact with a lesion or the body fluid of an infected individual. Hence chances of transmitting herpes increase after sex.

The only way of ruling it out is by getting yourself tested for genital herpes which you have already got done.

The second possibility is also right as the blister can be due to friction blister also. In that case, applying warm compresses and topical anti inflammatory pain killer creams provide relief. Tests for ruling out herpes also help in differentiating the cause from friction blister to herpes sore.

Other than that, it can be a bacterial boil also. Boils are caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus and presents as a red painful lump which may be filled with pus. Again application of warm compresses and topical antibiotics help.

Confirmation of diagnosis can only be done by investigations to rule out herpes. You should wait for your test results. Till then maintain proper hygiene, wear cotton clothes and clean the blister with topical antiseptics. Taking pain killer medication should help for pain but use them only under medical supervision.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
