For a few months now when I go for bowel movement I always feel the urge to have one even if I just had one. Any ideas on this?I am a 74 year old female.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Tenesmus and urge to defecate should be evaluated for proctitis, IBS and other inflammatory bowel conditions. Needs a gastroenterologist to have a look at.
