Did they discontinue Jolessa?

I tried to refill my script at Wallgreens and they said Jolessa was no longer being made. I have taken the other generic begins with a Q and it gave me hot flashes something in the IN active ingredients. My health insurance does not cover the name brand! This leaves me a little lost. The next 12 weeks I am ok I found CVS had a stock but they didn't hear it was disconitued?? Does anyone know for sure if they stopped making Jolessa??

I could not find the website for Jolessa or find out the name of the pharmaceutical company that makes it. Either location would give you the information you are looking for. Also, different countries offer different drugs. I looked on the United States' Food and Drug (FDA) website and it says that ETHINYL ESTRADIOL ( Jolessa/ Quasense) is an approved drug.

You could also try calling your insurance carrier and asking them. They should be able to help you as well.

Thank you
Thanks I did the same tryin to find the manufactorer and had no luck. I called my insurance immediately cause I can't take Quasense and they basically told me tough luck! They also said they don't have that info if a drug is still availbale or not. They said it takes time for stocks to run dry, I don't understand that but that is what the woman told me.

After a little more digging I found that Jolessa is produced by Watson Pharmaceuticals. I could not find anything on their website to indicate that Jolessa has been recalled. http://www.watson.com/
I also did a search for the terms "Jolessa recall" and did not come up with anything. Sorry I could not be more help.

Sorry about that mistake. Dunno why the website listed the wrong manufacturer. I did a little more digging and came across this article which lists Barr Laboratories as the manufacturer.I called the toll free number and was told by customer service that Jolessa 273 in the blister pack is still being made by Barr Labaratories and to the representative's knowledge, there are no plans to take it off the market. Apparently CVS got it wrong. Perhaps that particular drug store no longer carries it and you should transfer your prescription to another pharmacy.

I also did more digging and found it is still being made which i was thrilled to hear. Wallgreens actually decided to take it out of their systems it bothered me that they told us it was not being made anymore, cause we were ready to take the Quasense even though it gave us hot flashes( my daughter and I) I would of had hot flashes for NO reason. Pharmacies shouldn't be allowed to say that. Thank you for all your help also but funny thing is I spoke with Teva pharmicuticals and they claim to make the Jolessa lol and told me it was still being produced.

Teva, huh? Strange. Maybe Barr Labs and Teva are both subsidiaries of the same company. At any rate, I am glad that you found that it is still being made. When a person finds a drug that works well for them, it's a real pain to have to switch.

Inavailability of Jolessa
Hey all, I JUST had the same issue!!! With a lot of stupid digging and wasting time (URGH!) I called TEVA customer service JUST NOW and this really nice man told me that the recall wasn't due to patient concern, and that the reason that there isn't any Jolessa in stock seemingly anywhere is because of BACKORDER, and that it should be back on shelves in the next 8 weeks max. I was so glad to just get a DAMN ANSWER...FINALLY! Best of luck and know you're not the only ones pissed off!

I have had similar issues. I tried Quasense when I was told Jolessa was not available. I have been spotting for the past 7 weeks, which never happened in years on Jolessa. This makes me extremely concerned about the effectiveness because if my body is not absorbing the Quasense, there could be life changing consequences. Ugh! So frustrated...
