diarrea several times a day, pain, likely to be ibd or ibs?

for about month or more ive been having stomache pains in my left side. the pain is like a stabbing or punching feeling from the inside. it hurts to touch and breathe in. i also get diarrea several times a day. there isnt anything that will relieve the pain. blood test showed slightly elevated white blood cell count. i had my appendix out in march this year. urine test and poo test was negative,  2 trips to the hospital and got sent home with panadol both times. the doctor does not believe its ibs maybe more likely to be ibd. i had a ct scan about 2 weeks ago which showed enlarged lymph nodes and a large bilateral ovarian cyst, extra renal pelves noted and a cortical cyst on my left kidney. the doctor said that is okay and pain should go away  in a week but it hasnt and has only got worse.  sometimes i get a stabbing like pain just below my ribs on my left and right side but it eventually goes away. can anyone tell me whts going on?? please

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

Left sided abdominal pain can be due to possibilities as:
1)Peptic ulcer disease or Hiatal hernia. Diagnosis can be confirmed by upper GI endoscopy.

2 The second possibility is of pancreatitis as it may cause upper left abdominal pain which is worse when bending over or sitting. Pancreatic enzymes like serum amylase and lipase should be measured to rule out any pancreatic cause.

3)The last possibility is of any kidney stones which may present as sharp pain radiating to the back.

As CT scan result is relatively normal it might be suggestive of Inflammatory bowel disease as Chron's disease or Ulcerative colitis. Another cause can be lactose intolerance and you would have to check if certain foods cause diarrhoea. It is difficult to give a precise diagnosis without clinical examination. Kindly visit a Gastroenterologist for thorough evaluation.
