Really going through a lot of depression lately. My family is not allowing me to sleep well. I am not doing the best with life right now because it seems like there isn't much left to enjoy anymore. I'm also in college and it's hard to get much done in classes because of how sad I feel sometimes. The material doesn't interest me and life at home is pretty hard. Most of the time, I sit alone in my apartment and just try to get homework done and exercise to live a healthy life. Oftentimes, I get really down with myself and feel like I am not worth anything. I don't really have many friends that talk to me on a regular basis. The thing that makes it hard is that on holidays I come home to a family that is pretty caught up in their own lives and doesn't have the time nor the energy to hear about my problems. I don't know where to turn. The days seem long and hard for me every single day. Probably the only thing that helps is staying positive and exercise. How can I get help?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. Its normal to feel depressive. You should get some cognitive behavioural therapy and some good psychotherapy sessions from a good psychiatrist. Low doses of tricyclic antidepressants can help as well.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
