Delay and variation in the flow of my period

Hi, I suddenly experienced a delay in my period by a week and also, the intensity of the flow has reduced drastically. Do you have any idea as to why did it happen? I would like to mention that i had traveled for 3 days before my period started and also the weather has become hot this time. But is this the real cause or is there anything wrong?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Stress and changes in climate or travel can cause delay in periods. Having variation of 5-10 days in menstrual cycle length is considered to be normal due to various causes, hence if your menstrual cycles are regular and vary between 21 days – 45 days, this can be considered as normal. Observe your menstrual cycles for 2-3 cycles. If worried you should consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for further evaluation clarification and assistance. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
