Dealing with depression and quitting medication

User Profile
I'm not sure I can deal with my depression much longer. I am sleeping 4-5 hours a day, I'm always sad and tired (seemingly emotionless) and I cannot understand why I can't sleep or be happy. My appetite is OK, but I'm just feeling lost and empty looking for something to cheer me up but I have nobody really in my life that is in "good standing" except my brother and my mom, but they are both busy and it's hard to find time to talk to them. College takes up my time to do therapy and my doctor and I only get short visits because he's also busy. I am trying online counseling therapy but I'm only doing it for a week because my family cannot afford it longer than that. I just feel like giving up and quitting all my pills because they aren't helping anyway. I don't care if I withdrawal because it's better than trying to deal with side effects anymore. Zoloft, Vyvanse, Dexedrine, Hydroxyzine, HCTZ, Lorazepam, Lunesta, it's just too much to be on so I am going to quit my pills tonight.

Welcome to e health forum.

You have mentioned your problems in brief, but you have not provided the cause and the trigger for the onset of your symptoms.

More information and medical history would be needed, to know how to help you deal with your situation. Since this cannot be properly achieved via a online medium, and you will need to speak in person to a caregiver or psychiatrist.

Your counselor or psychiatrist would be the right person, who can guide you how to deal with your feelings and provide prescription of medicines to help with your depression. Hence it would be recommended to consult him at the earliest.
