10 days late from my period

User Profile
I am 10days late from my period (dued on 5th december). I had unprotected sex on the 7th 12th and 20th November. My last period started on the 4th of november. I usually have a regular menstrual cycle. I have bloody brown discharge(?) daily for the past week. It looks like the dark brown blood that is seen during the last few days of menstration. When i urinate, my tissue gets stained with blood, but there is no consistent flow of blood. About a week before my period was due, i had brown discharge for a couple of days also. I took a urine test 5 days (10th dec) after i missed my period but came out negative. Not having tender breasts but i feel a queasy in the stomach sometimes after i smoke. Could i be pregnant? Im thinking of going for a blood test. How many days after a missed period do you recommend for a blood test? PLEASE HELP ME!! Greatly appreciated.

Welcome to ehealthforum,
If you had been sexually active (without protection) during your fertile days after you last periods, you could be at risk for pregnancy. The recent symptoms that you describe could be a few of the symptoms suggestive of early pregnancy. If you have not got your periods within 10 days of expected period dates, and if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). Blood HCG tests can show accurate results as early as 11 days post-conception as compared to urine pregnancy tests that usually start showing positive results after about 20 days post-conception. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest.
Take care.
