User Profile
I am normally pretty regular with my period, everyone and awhile it does come a little late, so at first when I was a little late this past time I didn't worry too much. Now I am 8 days late and had multiple negative test results. Last month I had my period on June 7th and it lasted its normal time. It was expected on July 9th. I had light pink spotting when I wiped on July 7th and that was it. Since then I have had light discharged that almost feels like my period but no blood. Last night on 16th I had cramping that felt like my normal period so I used a tampon and today still no blood at all or period.

Am I Pregnant Answer A37205
Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

If you have missed your periods then please take a pregnancy test. If urine pregnancy test is negative then go for a blood pregnancy test. A blood HCG estimation test would be more reliable. If the test is negative then you are not pregnant. If it is borderline, repeat after 48 hours to see if the levels are rising. Rising and doubling levels indicate pregnancy. If this too is negative then other causes of delayed or missed periods will have to be looked at such as ectopics (can give negative urine/HCG tests), stress whether emotional or physical, hypothyroidism, polycystic disease of the ovary, pituitary tumors secreting prolactin, anemia and poor diet, hormonal imbalance, unexplained or sudden weight gain or weight loss. You will need to consult a gynecologist for this. Hope this helps. Take care!
