35-50 days cycle, is it normal?

User Profile
I normally have a 35-day cycle and my last period was April 1. I had an intercourse on April 29th, and until now I haven't gotten my period yet. My next period was due May 6, and I am already 15 days late. It's been 50 days from the start of my last period..I tried an HPT this morning but the result was negative.Could I still be pregnant even if the first test showed up negative? Is it normal to have 35 days and above cycle? I need some opinions...thank you..

Have you been stressed or sick with a cold? Sometimes this will cause a late period cycle. Some test will show a negative if this was your 1st test after taking the pill for a while. Have you had any other symptoms? If so, check with your obgyn it could be related to something else

I haven't been that stressed recently..I've just noticed that I feel tired and I always feel sleepy before lunch, about 10 or 11 in the morning. I've got some slight pains in my abdomen, which I am not sure if these are just because of my late period or there's another reason behind.

Thanks for your reply..

Have you told your doctor yet? A 35 day cycle is not unheard of (mine is 38 day). The tiredness and slight pain in the abdomen could be signs of a late cycle caused by something. As for what that something is, I am not sure of. It could be nothing like a cold or flu starting, but I would get checked out because it could be more serious. Good Luck

Haven't gone to the doctor yet, kinda scared because everything's new for me and I'm afraid to get disappointed if this isn't pregnancy. But my boyfriend said we'd better visit the OBgyn as soon as possible to clear things out. It's really hard to tell especially the early signs of pregnancy are similar to those of a coming period, right? Sorry, it's my first time to experience things like these.

thanks again
