day 3 off my bc and I should've gotten my period.

I have a question. I'm on microgestin and when I traveled to another country I got my period while I was still taking the active pills. I stopped taking the pills for 7 days and then resumed them when it was over. The first day my period was over I took my bc as I normally would and I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. We used the "pull out" method. About a week later I started experiencing cramps. its now been about 4 weeks and I was nervous I was pregnant so I stopped taking my bc to see if id get my period. Today is day 3 off my bc and I should\'ve gotten my period. Instead it had been this Brown discharge. Could I be pregnant?

The spotting that you experienced could have been due to breakthrough bleeding resulting from stress, climatic or time zone changes, and you should have consider being regular with taking your birth control pills (without giving break for periods during the pill pack use). Then discharge that you describe at present could be the withdrawal effect of the hormones after stopping the pill use. Since you had given break in active pill use, you may be at risk for pregnancy due to the efficacy of the pills getting affected. Wait and watch for your withdrawal bleeding/periods that should occur within 5-7 days of taking last active pill. Visit your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for further evaluation, clarification and assistance. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately.
