Hi,
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out.

If you have had unprotected sexual intercourse, then the possibility of pregnancy definitely needs to be ruled out.

The brownish discharge which you’re having could be implantation bleeding. This happens due to the implantation of the zygote into the inner lining of the uterus.

The urine pregnancy test is usually positive around 1 week after the missed periods.

However, a serum beta HCG test can be done around 10 days after the implantation bleeding.

This is a more sensitive test and you don’t need to wait for your next periods. The confirmation of pregnancy can also be done by doing an ultrasound of the uterus later.

Please do consult a gynecologist for the same. I sincerely hope this information helps. Take care.

Thank you so much for the help. Now earlier in the day I was having a brownish discharge. Then around 9:00 p.m. it started as a period. Its not a heavy flow yet but im having cramps as the normal period I have. Should I still make an appointment now? Would they be able to tell if im pregnant or not bu an ultra-sound or blood test?
