cramps like I would with my period but it wasn't my period.

User Profile
I am on birth control pills. I missed two pills and had unprotected sex on one of those days. My cycle is now 5 days late. One the day that was cycle was set to come, I had a brownish-pinkish discharge when I wiped and it lasted one day but the next day the discharge had bright red drops with the brown discharge and it lasted 1 day. I had cramps like I would with my period but it wasn't my period. It was very light (heavy enough for a panty liner). Could I be pregnant?

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

Birth control pills are effective in providing contraceptive effect only when used regularly without missing any dose. Since you missed two pills in a row and also has unprotected contact conception is a possibility. It also depends on which week of the cycle you missed the pill.

Bleeding/ spotting might be due to hormonal changes due to the pills being missed. It is difficult to comment here without examining you. Relax and wait for few days. If you have any unusual symptoms consider visiting a Gynaecologist for evaluation.

Take care!
