I am 30 weeks pregnant and i have been having menstrual like cramping and lower back pain on and off. The cramps are very sharp and painful. Can you tell me if its contractions?

Hi,
Thanks for joining me on ehealthforum.
The cramps and pain do not seem to be normal at 30 weeks. I would recommend you to get a thorough check done to make sure things are fine. If these are due to contractions, then medications will be prescribed to control them until you reach your due date. Do not ignore the cramps, if they become more, you could have a miscarriage too.
For the back pain use hot water fomentation, and topical analgesic creams.
