could i have torn the mesh after it has been in for so long?

in 2001 i had abdonminal surgery to repair 7 hernias. about a week ago i lifted some heavy equipment a felt a tug and pull sensation on the left side of my scar that runs the full length of my stomach. i feel a tug and burn when i move certain ways, and now i cannot lay on my left side without moderate pain in that area. could i have torn the mesh after it has been in for so long?

Odds for mesh breaking can not be ruled out. Weight lifting and strenuous work out might have caused it and might explain the pain in the area,

7 hernias and that much trouble makes it worth assessment, Get an appointment with a surgeon and let them sort it out for you.
