Contraceptive I PILL and pregnancy

User Profile
hi. my wife and I had sexual intercourse on 14 Feb, 2010 for the first time. she took a contraceptive I PILL around 20 hrs after sex. Her menstrual period started on 22 nd Feb and it continued for 7 days. Now it is almost one month 6 days and she did not have her second menstrual cycle. This is worrying us.

Can she get pregnant by any chance ?
can you advise?

Thank you for your question on

As your wife had one menstruation after intercourse, it is very unlikely that she is pregnant. If you had intercourse again after her last period without protection or contraceptive measures, then there is a chance for her getting pregnant. However, it is only over a week since she is due for her next period; it is advisable to wait for a few more days. You can get a pregnancy test done if you had intercourse without contraception, after a week to 10 days. Thank you.
