constantly feeling something is stuck in my throat

User Profile
First time I felt something stuck in my throat was about a year ago. But then it was rare. Now I constantly get a feeling that something is stuck in my throat, but only on left side. Also recently i started feeling strong pain in left part of my neck (near Adams apple). Even more my left ear started hurting. As I chew the pain intensifies, also when I swallow. Most recent I felt blood taste, and I had blood in my saliva. The pain is periodic and most often occurs after I drink alcohol. The blood showed up also after drinking. I do not feel pain in my chest or stomach. I've been to 3 ENT specialists, all say acid reflux, but the prescribed medication does not seem to work. Also I have a CT scan of my neck. I always bend my neck towards left side, so it wouldn't hurt at night. Applying pressure on the hurting side also helps. Does this seem to you doctor to be just a acid reflux ?

Acid Reflux Answer A56843
hello and welcome

your concern is appreciated

there may be a lot of reason for that like infection in the throat and ear, reflux also can be one of the reasons, thyroid nodules, peritonsillar abscess but its associated with chills and fever, conditions of the esophagus like esophagitis, diverticulm etc
tumors in the throat specially pain radiating to ear and with alcohol intake unexplained weight loss spitting blood in saliva etc. a simple plane x ray of the neck AP and Lateral view can be done, indirect laryngoscopy can also be done, for esophagus endoscopy can also be suggested.
MRI neck will clear it out if there is any tumor.

hope it helps
thanks
