My father, 54 years old,have noise in his head, not in ears, at the lower back of head and that resembles with the noise of machines roaring. He hears that noise 24 hours . some days very high, some days not that high and some days dont hear at all. No pain, no migraine but that is quite irritating.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Its tinnitus, get him to otolaryngologist, they will evaluate, work up and give supportive treatment for relief.
