Please can someone help me?
Three weeks ago I started having stomach pains, cramps and vaginal bleeding. I thought it was the start of a bad period. Later that night I had a loss. When I had a look I saw a foetus attached to a cord which was attached to what looked like a placenta. I didn't know I was pregnant so it was a big shock. My husband agreed it was a foetus.
The next morning we went to the hospital so I could get checked out. The nurse told me that I would of been about six weeks pregnant. They done a pregnancy test which came back negative, this didn't surprise me as I have four year old twins and all my pregnancy tests were coming back as negative until I was about 8 weeks pregnant. The nurse took away the foetus to examine. I was called into the room to show the nurse where the foetus was. The nurse had pulled it all apart so she could find it, and because of that I couldn't find it. A doctor was also called in and she could not find the foetus. She had pulled it apart from the cord and it was unrecognisable. After this I had a scan. The doctor told me the that it looked like I had had a miscarriage. I was sent home and told to do a pregnancy test in teo weeks and they would send my loss of to be tested. Two weeks later I phoned up with my negative test result and told the results of the loss were back and it was not pregnancy material.

I do not understand how they can say it was not a foetus. I would bet my life on it that it was a foetus. It was only little but it was definitely a foetus. I sat looking at it for hours! How can the test results come back saying it wasn't? I'm so confused and I'm starting to feel like I'm going crazy. My husband and my mother both saw it and 100% agree it was a fetus. Please can anyone help me understand this? Thank you x

OMG! I am so sorry and I hope you've gotten answers since this happened.
Have they ever said what it was?? People don't just have fetus looking things come out of them every day...If it WASN'T that then they should have explained what it was and if you had just had a miscarry then it would have to be that or something to do with the placenta/sac/cord and all.
I'm sooo sorry you just went through all that. I hope you're ok and wish the best!

Thank you so much for your reply. No I've still had no answers. I did speak to a off duty nurse who said that when the nurse dropped and cut into the foetus she will have contaminated it and wouldn't of sent it off for tests. She also said that sometimes when you miscarry your hormone levels drop and that maybe the reason for the negative pregnancy tests.

Well Ms. Vickie.. I can contest to what happened to you because it just happened to me.
I've been bleeding for almost 2 weeks now because I miscarried. My bleeding had gotten to be very light over the past couple days and I was only wearing a liner... I went to the bathroom just now there it was. An exact image of what you saw. Of course it wasn't very pleasant to see but I even showed my husband and he agreed that's what it was. We would have been about the same amount of weeks along also.
You're not the only one.

I honestly don't either... It makes NOOO sense... It was really obvious what it was and even mangled you could can't confuse something that even looks remotely like that with anything else... Especially when you know where it came from... And they done a sonogram and said that it appeared that you just had a miscarry...Maybe they are just a busy place and didn't want to bother with it or something if you weren't in pain and all. Who knows... I'm glad you are ok though and yes I am.. Actually after it happened on Sun I've been great ever since. My body seems to be getting back to normal. Hopefully everything will go well when we start trying again in a couple months. Smile

Good luck you to too! Smile
