sponge sadness
OMG I feel like I have been vindicated. Yes I have SEVERE anemia due to gastic bypass. I simply HAVE to chew on sponges to get by in my day. I get the dollar store ones and rip off the scubby top and cut the in half to chew (the ones that are dry and don't start out wet). When I have blood transfusions I can go weeks with out one. I feel so alone and like a freak....bajc0g1

I love the smell of the yellow foam from inside of the mattress just everything about it , and it smells so good. A long time ago when I were about 8 I used to go to my grandmas house and eat all the dish sponges. I stop eating it for about 6 years then I started eating it again , my mom and dad has a queen size mattress and I've eaten almost half of it. I don't know what's going on but when I get off from school that's the first place I go and I've tried to stop myself but I didn't really stop , only when I'm to my friends house. The only thing I stopped doing was saying it before bed so I won't suffocate myself from it

Good news for all sponge eaters have been doing it 30 years and I can confirm the problem is aneamia. If you take your iron tablets and multivitamins regularly the cravings will go.At 43 am still eating kitchen sponge but please PEOPLE ! Spit it out don't swallow. That way you are not getting toxic stuff in your tummy. E
at fruits and veg regularly you will be fine.Good luck.

I am almost 9 months pregnant, but for the last few weeks I have been chewing and even swallowing bathroom towels. I use to do it when I was younger like in my late teens early twenties then I stopped and switched to toilet paper. Then by the time I was mid-late twenties I knew it was wrong so I stopped it all together. I never gave into eating towels again right up until now! I am 32 and since the last month or so the urge just suddenly came over me I have had no desire to eat bathroom towels or toilet paper again until being in late pregnancy. I found that chewing bath towels was just not enough I have to swallow it, yes I know it's wrong but I have to satisfy my cravings. I most definitely will stop again I know I will! I just don't know when, it's really annoying because I have done so well the last few years not eating this weird stuff. I just have to wait it out, I have no desire also to keep eating towels after I give birth either, I'm just using my pregnancy as an excuse for me eating the darn stuff. My poor lil baby taking it all, I feel upset doing this to her. Gosh!! I hope for the best and wish you all the best as well!
