I woke up with a lump in my right armpit and a day after I felt sick like a cold almost. The lump was tender and kind of warm. It seemed deep so I don\'t think it was a hair follicle that was infected. I looked it up and I keep seeing stuff about cancer and it is freeking me out.. Any thoughts?

Cold, Flu and Viral Infections Answer A64634
If its warm tender and painful then an infectious cause /reactive/ viral / bacterial is more likely. NSAIDs and local warm compresses can be used. If it persists beyond 2 weeks then assessment for excision should be done. A CBC should be done prior o this.
