Citalopram discontinuation or withdrawal

I recently tried to taper off Celexa, an anti-depressant, and was wondering how long this awful process would take. My doctor never told me how hard it would be to go off! I get brain zaps (electric shock-like sensations in my head), feel lethargic and moody, have a hard time motivating myself, and am sleeping a lot (not out of choice--I just fall asleep and then wake up later than I planned). It's been a week and a half. When will it stop?

It's not easy...
It seems like most doctors are entirely unaware of or do not believe in the myriad of problems we face coming off citalopram. There are thousands like you, including me.
