Chronically Swollen tonsil, and plugged ear/sinus on left side

I've had ear / sinus / throat symptoms which I believe to all be related for a couple years now. One, my throat (left side mainly) has been chronically irritated and my tonsil often swollen. Two, I have a swollen lump (tonsil again?) that I can feel with my fingers, behind my jaw bone and below my left ear. Three, my left ear and sinus seem to be consistently plugged, without my nose being stuffed up.

I'm looking for things to try that might help fix these symptoms, or find something that's been causing it. I've tried salt water gargles, drinking lots of water, and using a neti pot, though I haven't really stuck to any of these methods consistently. I asked my doctor a couple years ago about the swollen gland I could feel, but she told me it was probably just from drinking too much coffee and didn't put any significance to it. Now I'm just irritated that the problem still hasn't gone away.

Hey chicabonita14, you should see a specialist and they can run tests to be sure of a diagnosis. You could have an allergy, or non allergy problem like rhinitis because I get the same problem along with sore throats. The doctor can give you a nasal spray and something like it to clean out your mucus membranes in your nose.

You can buy a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide 3% for less than $1 at WalMart.

wk# 1: mix half of HP with half of water. Use it for gargle and nasal spray at least twice daily.
wk# 2: increase HP to 3 quarters and 1 quarter of water. Use it for gargle and nasal spray at least twice daily.
wk# 3: use 100% of HP - no mixture of water.

I've been using it for about 1 year now and it works wonder. Hydrogen Peroxide 3% is the most effective solution mankind can use treat bad breath and sinus problems. If everyone uses HP, dentists and doctors may have to find another profession to supplement their income.

Please pass it on to help others.

I'm currently experiencing the exact same problem, did the hydrogen peroxide or anything else resolve your issue?
