Welcome to ehealthforum

Chronic Pancreatitis is a long term inflammation of the pancreas and is an irreversible condition.Pancreas secretes a number of digestive enzymes and helps in digestion so inability of pancreas effects that function.Since you are having the pain occasionally it seems the disease has not progressed too much.Depending on other symptoms like fever, pain, abdominal cramps, indigestion treatment is decided.Initially medications can control it but if the disease has spread and if the ducts have been blocked then surgery is required.Surgery is also of different types and is decided on the basis of MRI and CT reports.
Have small low fat meals in a day.Do not smoke and drink as the condition may worsen.Avoid any stress.
Kindly discuss with your treating doctor regarding the treatment options.

Take Care!
