My Husband 29, has chronic ear discharge. The fluid which come out smells bad.If there is more hot weather the discharge comes out more. He can not hear from that ear(right ear).
He was advised for surgery but because it is related to head he is not willing to go ahead with that option and so he avoids going to Doctor. I am seeing him since 3-4 years and there is no change in the discharge(smell/quantity/color).
I am very much worried as it is kept untreated. Is this life threatening? I want to know if there is any non-surgical treatment to it and also what can happen if it is left untreated Sad I am not willing to and I am trying hard to take him to doctor). Please answer my query.

Hi! Infections can be dangerous if they worsen or spread. Maybe your husband will go to another Dr. to get a second opinion? You can ask an eHealthforum Dr. here on the site and they will give you their thoughts. It's free too! Click in the box that says Ask A Doctor, then post your question there. Hope this helps!
