Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Blood in sputum if persistent along with history of prolonged cough could suggest possibility of tuberculosis. Consider visiting your doctor/healthcare provider for further examination and evaluation including sputum AFB test, which if positive, then TB gold test to confirm the diagnosis. Other possibility could include presence of blood in sputum due to tearing of capillaries as a result of vigorous and strong coughing. Get started on treatment as appropriate based on your examination findings and evaluation results. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/healthcare provider and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water and maintain healthy lifestyle.
Take care.
