Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

Fetal hydrocephalus (or fluid in baby’s head) may be present from early on but usually gets detected in third trimester. The prognosis depends on a number of conditions like the position of defect, other associated anomalies, fetal period after diagnosis, head circumference and degree of ventriculomegaly at birth, etc. The baby will need to be monitored carefully for the rest of the pregnancy and even after birth. Please discuss this with your gynecologist and neonatology experts.

This reply to your query is just for education and counseling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit and treatment by a doctor who can examine you. Hope this helped you in making an informed decision about your health. Take care!
