I have a serious problem with people being too close to me or even touching me. I don''t willingly hug anyone and can''t remember the last time I''ve been affectionate. The problem is no one seems to take it seriously, my family thinks it''s funny to provoke me by attempting to hug or kiss me and that literally makes my teeth hurt I feel so uncomfortable. I''ve alway''s had little "quirks" (can''t stand even numbers, aversions of things that appear wet, certain sounds) but this weird problem is ruining my life. Is this normal and am I alone in this?

Your not alone, i feel bad because my friends always hug each other but i never reach out to hug them, and if they hug me i grit my teeth. When people get close to me i want to back away. I think this is because im a very independent person, and also because i struggle with my self-image. have you ever been abused, molested? there could be a very reasonable explanation, you can always pretend your a germaphobe Smile

Can't stand to be touched...
I know this was posted a couple of years ago. How is it going now for you two? My husband and daughter suffer from this. We've tried everything. Medical and psychological. I believe you cant help it. But we still haven't figured out over here how to fix it. If you've had any success... let me know!

Ew yeahthis is bad i cant stand it either never knew why but on my journey to spiritual enlightenment some people never get used to the "physical body" and just dnt understand touch as a way to express your feelings its confusing but you are just more spiritual person basically
