can opening a massive lymph node lead to further infection?

So I went to a couple clinics since i dont have insurance and I was diagnosed with lymphadenopathy. They were unable to find what was causing the enlarged lymph node in my armpit but theyes were sure it was infection.
After not hearing back from anyone I tried one more clinic where I made amy appointment for an ultrasound and biopsy. Within the first 5 minutes of being there they diagnosed the lump as an abscess. I had a feeling this wasn't right so I showed them my medical records on my phone of it being diagnosed as a lymph node. They assured me it was an abscess and within the first 10 minutes of being there they had me on a table trying to numb the lump 6 different times with a needle. It never got numb but they went ahead and made a i&d anyways and squeezes an orange water liquid out for 5 minutes. They perscribed me bactrim and said everything was fine and sent me on my way. It only took about 20 minutes to get in and get out.
6 days later I had a tonic-clinic seizure leading to status epilepticus and was life flighted to a better hospital. I also went septic. I found everything was caused by Cat Scratch Disease and the bactrim I was prescribed.
My question is can cutting open a massive lymph node lead to further infection? I do now have another large lymph node growing close to it.
Also, should I do something legally or was this unpreventive?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
If I/D was done under aseptic measures then it could not be due to lymph node infection.
Anyhow this case cannot be challenged in the court because its a recognised surgical complication.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
