Can a Drs urine pregnancy test be wrong?!

So i went to my doctor for a regular routine "female" checkup and they did a pregnancy test (urine test) and it came up negative. But when they did the test i still had like 10 days till i was supposed to get my period and now i find myself 2 days late getting it.Im wondering if maybe it was too early when they tested me and i still could be pregnant?! Im actually trying to have a baby but i dont wanna get my hopes up :/

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum

Urine pregnancy tests show up the results about 10 days after the missed periods and also when hormone HCG is detectable in urine. It cannot give true results before the periods are due.If you suspect to be pregnant wait for a week for the periods to start and if they do not then consider getting a Blood HCG test done to rule out pregnancy as it is a confirmatory test.

Take Care!
