but he has had no symptoms of having herpes whatsoever!

User Profile
I was just diagnosed with herpes a few days ago but I have been with the same guy for 3 years and no one else. When I confronted him about this he told me he slept with someone while we were broken up not very long ago but he has had no symptoms of having herpes whatsoever. I started breaking out about 3 days after he and I had sex for the first time since he slept with her. I have also been extremely stressed out lately which I know can trigger a breakout. Is it possible that he gave me herpes even though he didn't show any signs of it?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Men can remain asymptomatic over long periods of time. Women tend to experience and develop signs of infection more in severity. If you are stressed, it can be a precipitating factor for the outbreak. If worried, you should consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for STD screening tests done on both you and your partner. Get started on appropriate treatment simultaneously. Avoid intercourse while having outbreak.
Take care.
