Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Dark brown vaginal spotting/discharge that you describe could indicate possibility of old oxidized blood (if you have had missed periods or delayed periods), hormonal changes, infections (if associated with foul smell), endometritis, ovarian cysts, use of any medications, etc. It is difficult to comment on the exact cause for the dark brown discharge that you describe without examining you and going ahead with further evaluation. The exact cause can only be made out after careful evaluation. You should consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination and further evaluation to look for the underlying cause for the dark brown discharge that you describe. Treatment as appropriate (based on examination findings and investigations results) would be started to help you control the abnormal discharge and regulate your periods. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
