Breathing difficulty and anxiety

User Profile
After listening about the Swine flu.I have developed breathing difficulty few months back. It comes for 3-4 days and then it go away for next 6-7 days.I had this problem 9 years back and after a lots of testing including cardiology..I was told that its Anxiety. And this problem goes away after 1year during that time.
Now again I'm suffering from the same problem. I just can't sleep in night and always gets up with some terrible fear of dying. Now this episode is more stronger than what I had 9 years back.
I always think of this swine flu outbreak and always thinking as if I had this flu.Now this breathing difficulty add more to my thinking pattern.
I Just need some suggestion how to over come this breathing difficulty problem permanently. I can't understand why I'm worried so much. Even if I don't want to think about it..but still it runs in back of my mind.
Please suggest some way to come out of this hell.

Hello and welcome to eHealth Forum!

Take up yoga, deep breathing exercise, walking and remain strong and determined in your effort to do away with this habit. Music and aerobics are also good stress busters. Drink plenty of fluids and water (not caffeine), eat fresh fruits and vegetables and keep yourself busy throughout the day.

The other method is to go for cognitive behavioral therapy. This helps you to analyze the cause of your anxiety and teaches you to alter your thinking process. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is another option that helps take care of unconscious mental conflicts raging in you.

You need to discuss this with your doctor and get help from a psychologist to overcome anxiety.
