Brain arteries hardening and scarring - Reversible?

User Profile
I have hardening of the arteries in the brain and scarring in the brain. I am having a extremely hard time with memory - it's the retaining of information - things that happened in the past, I remember. Is this condition reverseable? Will I gain back the ability to retain any new information I have learned or will learn?

According to the data you provided you might be experiencing anterograde amnesia. It is a type of amnesia when the person can not remember new data for longer period. The damage of the brain cells is usually irreversible, since the brain cells do not regenerate. However, if the brain damage was recently, then there is a possibility that the brain cells in the affected area of the brain are not completely damaged and its function will at least partially recover in time.
