Born With Congenital Cataract, Have Many Questions

I was born with a congenital cataract in my left eye. The cataract was removed a few days after I was born with surgery. I wore glasses/contacts from that point forward, until I was about 11. I stopped then. Growing up, we rarely went to doctors. I was always told that a corrective surgery, restoring my vision in my left eye, would be possible. I'm wondering if this is true (I have absolutely no clue what this surgery would be) and my parents can't really tell me anything about my condition. Any information would be useful. Thank you.
