borderline passing out because I'm in agony bowel movement

User Profile
Excruciating pain while trying to have a bowel movement. I start breaking into a deep sweat and screaming from the pain, to the point where I'm borderline passing out because I'm in agony. It almost feels like there is a baseball in my anal canal, and sometimes when I'm trying to have a bowel movement, the stool is causing pressure on the ball, thus causing the pain maybe? This has been happening for about a year and a half now but only about 1-2 a month. What could be going on? I don't have any health insurance either. Thank you for any help or advice.

Welcome to e health forum.

From the history provided here, presence of severe anorectal pain during bowel movements indicate a wide range of problems ranging from anal fissures, hemorrhoids, pelvic infections, ano-rectal abscesses, etc.

Presence of blood in stools, and possible cuts in the anal opening indicates possible anorectal fissures or mucosal tears associated with chronic constipation. Hard stools can cause excessive pressure on the delicate anal mucosa, and hence result in such conditions during defecation.

You might consider getting yourself examined by your physician. A rectal examination will provide conclusive information.

In the mean time taking OTC laxatives may help to relieve your constipation. Application of preparation H cream can help relieve the discomfort and pain during bowel movements.

I hope you find my suggestion helpful.
