I have tested low in Transcobalamin.
My result was 515 pg/mL with a normal range being 725−2045 pg/mL

This is the test description: tamin-bsub12-sub-unsaturated-binding-capac ity#

My questions:
I know low Transcobalamin can be caused by a genetic defect, but is there anything else than can cause low Transcobalamin? Some other disease?

What kind of specialist would know anything about Transcobalamin? A hematologist?

Thank you

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
It could be due to malabsorption or drugs like trimethoprim. Consult Hematologist to evaluate you.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
