blood clot in calf of lower leg

cana blood clot be removed from the calf of the lower leg?

Yes, the sooner the better...definately do not want it to travel and cause a stroke / heart attack / death. Surgically or with blood thinners.

My husband has a blood clot in his calf and the Dr. said that they can not take it out of the calf. She said the veins are to small.
