blisters on hands and feet

My wife is a 40 yr old female. She has developed blisters on her hands and feet. The blisters (water and blood blisters) are mainly on her toes and top of her hand and fingers, but have appeared on her ankles and top of her feet. Last night, she scraped a box lightly over the top of her foot and a large blood blister appeared. She has been to a dermatologist about the condition. The dermatologist did bloodwork and a 24 hour urine collection. The results of the bloodwork came back as normal, showing the condition could be environmental or medication related. It has been two weeks, and the results of the urine test are still pending. She takes acyclovir once a day, 400 mg,and Cipro, which she finished approximately July 3rd, and thought originally there may be a photosensitivity issue. The blisters are very painful to her. Has anyone experienced these symptoms? Looking for any helpful advice for her. Thanks!

I have had similar symptoms for about 3 years which resulted in cellulitis in the ankles and a stay in hospital. I saw 10 GPs and a specialist all of whom prescribed long term anti-biotics and told me to stop smoking! Most did say that they thought it was contact dermatitis. I researched the symptoms myself and decided that the cause was something I was coming into contact with at my place of work but couldn't discover what. We recently refurb'ed my office and found that the latex used to level the floor had degraded to a dust through office chairs rolling over it. The carpet was full of this dust. We have replaced the floor covering with a rubberised backed carpet and cleared up the crushed latex. I have had no symptoms since and am not taling medication to control the condition. hope this helps.
