I was getting up from the floor and banged the top of my head full force against the edge of a solid wood table. I did not black out or have any confusion after it happened. Now, it has been 4 days and I still have a headache, pressure in my temples, dizziness and feel like I am in a dream. My entire head is sore also. However, I have not thrown up and my memory and speech is fine. Also, my pupils are responding as they should. I do have sinus issues and am wondering if some of these symptoms could have been exacerbated by the blow to my head. I am 46 and have a bleeding disorder (not hemophilia though). I am worried but do not have the time with having 2 small children (and I am scared) to go to ER. Should I go to ER, just see a doctor or just wait it out? Thanks so much!

Brain and Head Injuries Answer A15553
Hi, welcome to the ehealth forum and I am glad to help you.
You seem concerned by headache, pressure in the temples, dizziness and a dream like state after banging your head on a wooden table 4 days back.
Any bang on the head shall be taken seriously and medical opinion sought for as there can be injury to skull, scalp or brain or all of these. Sometimes the injury is to the local area only with linear depressed fracture of skull but coup and contre coup injuries are also possible. With no memory and speech problems and with no history of seizures, vomiting and loss of consciousness, you might be fine with local injury only but cerebral concussion is still a possibility with your symptoms and shall be ruled out in consultation with your personal physician as the same is not possible online.
Hope this helps. Take care.
Note: This post is not to emphasise final diagnosis as the same cannot be made online and is aimed just to provide medical information and no treatment suggested above be taken without face to face consultation with health care professional.
