User Profile
Im bleeding 8 days before my period is due and its due next week round the 30th or 31st. What could it be? My period just went off March 4th. First it was brownish color and got a lil heavier but not period heavy. I had sex March 11th unprotected. What could this mean? This is the first time something like this has happened to me

Welcome to ehealthforum,
The early and altered bleeding that you describe could suggest possibility of pregnancy (implantation bleeding). Sometimes you can also have variation of 5-10 days in your menstrual cycle length (which is considered to be normal). If you have been sexually active without protection close to your ovulation time, then pregnancy is a possibility. Observe your current bleeding. Wait and watch for your usual periods. Look out for development of any other new symptoms if pregnancy is suspected. If periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). You may also consider taking a urine pregnancy test (on an early morning first urine sample) after 7-10 days of missed/altered periods to see if you get positive results, or get it confirmed by a blood HCG test. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet.
Take care.
