Bleeding constant for nearly 2 months

i am 21 years old and i have been on the depo since 15. My periods stopped almost instantly & never had a problem up until Nov09. I had a period that lasted from then until around end of January 2010. I had an ultrasound done, internal examinations, saw 4 gynacologists, took nothisterone, had my depo early, have been checked for fibroids, polyps, cysists & still nothing was found. After the bleeding stopped in January 2010,I didn’t have a problem until I started to get cysistitus every month.I was referred to a urologist. He examined me & I went for cystoscopy which again results came back fine, nothing was found abnormal. The nurse told me I may have bleeding for a day which I did & to take antibiotics to stop any infection. Since then I have bled everyday since the beginning of December 2010. I,again have been given my depo early which didn’t stop it and also nothisterine. These worked for a week but then the bleeding returned medium heaviness but with clots the size of 50 pence pieces.

I am now taking mefanamic acid and iron tablets. Bleeding seems a little reduced but still continues and it is now the 31st January and i have been bleeding since December 4th. Any ideas on how to make it stop?

Welcome to ehealthforum,
The cause for the continued bleeding should be looked for. Discuss with your treating doctor/gynecologist about getting complete hormonal analysis done along with blood work-up (including bleeding and clotting parameters testing) to look for the exact cause for the prolonged bleeding. Get started on appropriate treatment as indicated. Take supplements to prevent anemia and vitamin deficiency. Maintain good healthy diet and lifestyle. Be in regular follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist.
Take care.
