Birth Control besides hormonal birth control or condoms

User Profile
I have DVT and pulmonary embolisms, and can not take birth control anymore. My boyfriend has a lot of trouble keeping an erection with a condom on. What alternatives do I have that do not involve hormonal birth control or condoms, and we are in our 20s so we plan on having children in the future.

Welcome to ehealthforum,
You might consider using spermicide gel or vaginal diaphragm (female condom) to remain protected against pregnancy. However you will need to visit your doctor to see if you can use the spermicidal gel (and if you can, which one) and also if you consider using female condoms, then the accurate size has to be measured (after examination) and prescribed to you. Consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for further discussion (for other options) and evaluation (to choose which one would suit you).
Take care.
