Welcome to ehealthforum,
The effect of the antibiotics can remain in your system for almost 10 days after you take your last dosage. Most of the hormonal contraceptives start giving you effective protection after about 2-3 weeks of regular use. If you plan to get sexually active, consider using back-up protection (condom/spermicide gel) while having intercourse for additional protection against pregnancy during the first 2-3 weeks of getting started on it. Visit your doctor/gynecologist for further clarification and assistance.
Take care.
